Fujimori for Kato Kogei

Fujimori was born in Japan in 1935, graduated college in 1956, where he majored in oil painting and design. He worked in Chicago IL as a designer for a major ceramic company. Returning to Japan in 1963 he became a freelance designer for companies in Nogoya. At 19 he won the National Art Award and Art Awards in 1975, 1979, 1980, 1983 & 1984, and in 1980 won the Grand Prix, Nitten. As the Art Director for Kato Kogei Ceramics, a major supplier of fine ceramics to the international market, Fujimori oversaw the design and distribution of his signature line.
